to homebrewing.

here is an email i sent out to a few people today. if you didnt get this email, but feel it applies to you, please speak up in the comments!

hello.
you are reading this because i know that you, like me, enjoy fine beverage made up of barely, hops, and potentially many other incredible ingredients. :)
most likely you are consuming these beverages and disposing of the glass bottles they come in. this is where i come in… can i have them? can i have your bottles*?
very soon i will, with the help of a friend, begin the art of homebrewing. and having my own containers sure would make this easier… just reply to this email saying yes and i will come get them whenever you would like.

thanks, and stay in touch… if you contribute i definitely will return a bottle or two, full, once we get it down.
peace.
sam

*please no twist offs.

Welcome to SamMelden.com. This is simply an introduction to what will follow in the coming days, months and maybe years on this blog.

I will hope to spark some conversation, introduce people to new pieces of culture, or simply post stories of what is happening lately in my life.

Here are the subjects…

Music – One of my favorite things to do is hear new music, and new sources of that music… and then pass it along..

Film – Every once in a while I will be throwing up small reviews of different films that I have seen and asking for your input and feedback…

Wine – Much like a good film, I believe that a bottle of wine is something to be discussed, thought through and enjoyed… never simply consumed!

Homebrewing – Now, this may be the most ambitious of all topics for this blog… because I have never brewed my own beer. This summer will change that and I plan on sharing the journey here.

Married Life in Gospel Community – While this tag will cover a lot, it is no accident that this is an all encompassing category. All of life is connected in and through the gospel. I am a part of relationships that define who I am and I need them. A great picture of this type of relationship is with my wife, Lindsey. I no longer have stories about life, but about married life. And as we pursue cultivating a Gospel Community we will discover all sorts of relationships that define who we are. So, this category may cover a lot, but it just makes sense.

So, that’s it! I hope you enjoy reading and discovering these things with me… and join the conversation along the way!

Sam.

(Huge props to Mike for setting me up with the site!)
